Blackbox helps raise £5,000 for Great Ormond Street
Kent-based Blackbox Solutions has helped to raise £5,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital for children, at a charity go-karting event organised by Lawtech Group Ltd. The event also raised a further £3,850 towards Lawtech Trust community regeneration projects across the UK.
Blackbox Solutions, a rapidly-expanding provider of cost-cutting document solutions and IT services, joined more than 20 other teams at Buckmore Park in Kent to help raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The teams took part in a two hour Le Mans-style endurance race, with the aim of completing the most laps within the time limit.
Two teams of four entered the race from Blackbox Solutions. One team comprising Jonathan Devito, Jim Sanderson, Paul Kennaird and Adam Treacher, were thrilled to gain second place, completing 132 laps. The team were only 0.092 seconds behind the overall winners, Langley Waterproofing Systems. Blackbox Solutions’ second team placed ninth with a total of 124 laps.
Great Ormond Street is the UK’s largest children’s hospital and relies on donations to enable it to provide world-class care for patients and support for their families.
Colin Griffin, Managing Director of Blackbox Solutions, said: “At Blackbox Solutions, we’re always looking for ways to help raise money for worthy causes. Great Ormond Street Hospital is a charity that helps so many children and young people and we were pleased to play our part in raising money for those who need it most.”
