Mother and daughter entrepreneurs behind Memsahib Collections open pop-up in Chelsea
Memsahib Collections, the London-based fashion label that specialises in India-crafted ladieswear, has opened a new pop-up shop in Chelsea.
The multi-brand Joie de Vivre shop, which will be open until the end of May, is located at 273 Fulham Road in Chelsea, housed within a 601 sq ft property near the affluent King’s Road.
The premises, which are owned by the Sloane Stanley Estate, will play host to Memsahib’s range of embroidered and quilted silk products, as well as jewellery, shoes and childrenswear from brands including Me Encanta Jewellery and Bellalou.
Founded in 2003 by mother and daughter duo Malika and Gita Bagai, the fashion brand has attracted attention from the likes of fashion magazine Vogue for its range of high-quality silk products.
Following the opening, the pair commented: “Fulham Road is a prime shopping destination that attracts a diverse and international consumer base. Our label’s reputation for quality handcrafted pieces has attracted interest from distinguished clients including British and European royals, and we are extremely pleased to have secured such a highly sought after location to help build on our success.
“Our multi-brand pop-up allows the individually selected brands to complement our own collection, and further adds to the impressive variety of brands on the Fulham Road.”
Hannah Grievson, Commercial Property Manager at Sloane Stanley, added: “Memsahib Collections is ‘London’s best kept secret’, as described in British Vogue, and we are delighted they have chosen Fulham Road to exhibit their designs.
“Their emphasis on quality and sophistication is a perfect match for the stylish and discerning clientele that the Fulham Road attracts.”
