UK Steel Enterprise announces opening of fifth UK office in Scunthorpe

UK Steel Enterprise has announced the opening of its new office in Scunthorpe.

A subsidiary of Tata Steel, UK Steel Enterprise is dedicated to helping the economic development of those areas of the UK most affected by changes in the steel industry.

Based in the town’s Admin Centre on Queensway Industrial Estate, the organisation’s newest site is ‘ideally placed’ to support the region’s businesses with unsecured growth finance of up to £1m, aimed at boosting business growth and local job opportunities.

The new office, led by Regional Executive Allan Wood, will now act as a base for the UK Steel Enterprise team, who are looking to expand their activities financing companies across the region.

The organisation can provide loans from £25k and equity and loan packages of up to £1m to growing companies.

Earlier in the year, UK Steel Enterprise also launched its Scunthorpe Kickstart Fund – working in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council and the Growth Hub - an initiative aiming to help startups and entrepreneurs in the town with grants of between £500 and £1000 and business support from the Growth Hub.

Keith Williams, regional manager for UKSE in the Humber region, said: “We are delighted to officially announce the opening of our Scunthorpe office – our fifth UK-wide - which will help us support more growing companies across North Lincolnshire and beyond.

“We are particularly keen to back companies that can create jobs, and we know that access to the right finance can be crucial in enabling businesses to expand.”
