Super event coming to local Shopping centre
The Alhambra Shopping Centre in Barnsley is set to host ‘One Great Day’ of superhero fundraising for all the family to enjoy next month.
The One Great Day fundraising event follows similar events that have taken place the last two years, that have raised more than £6,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and Barnsley Hospital Charity, Tiny Hearts Appeal.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday 11th June (11am – 3.30pm) with a whole host of fun activities for shoppers!
The charitable efforts, will feature superheroes including Captain America, Batman, Spiderman, Iron Man, Big Hero 6 and Wonder Woman alongside other friends, Kids Club activities, face painting and lots of ping pong fun!
The superheroes will be on hand at the main entrance for photos and to meet their little fans from across the town. Two ping pong tables will be placed in the centre outside Iceland, to help mark the launch of Barnsley Ping! Festival which will run for 5 weeks. Crafts and face painting will be on the upper level outside The Entertainer Toy Shop.
Collection buckets will be located in and around the centre to raise money for Great Ormond Street and local charity Tiny Hearts Appeal.
Steph Higham, Alhambra Shopping Centre marketing manager said: “We are all looking forward to the One Great Day events and raising lots of money and awareness of two fantastic charities.
“We are aiming to raise more money than last year so come along join in the fun, meet your favourite superheroes and help Tiny Hearts Appeal reach their target for Barnsley babies.”
As a separate fundraising event, the Alhambra has organised a ‘One Great Golf Day’ on 7th June at Sand Hill Golf Course, and is looking for budding golfers to enter a team!
