Corporation Pop takes on three new hires

Marking a record year of growth, Corporation Pop has expanded with three new hires including an appointment to its senior team.

Corporation Pop, based in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, has enjoyed 20% year-on-year growth for the last three years and for the period 2015/16 turnover is anticipated to be 22% up on the previous year, marking its best ever year.

The interactive agency, which specialises in serious games, advergames, web applications and 3D virtual environments, has moved away from project-based work to a retained business model which now accounts for around a third of its work.

Corporation Pop recently achieved the government-backed Cyber Essentials accreditation that helped it to win a place on the government’s ‘Digital Outcomes’ Framework Agreement. Last month Corporation Pop was nominated for Best User Experience and Best Use of Mobile in the upcoming Big Chip Awards.

The agency is currently working on a number of high profile mobile applications, a long-term contract with the government-funded Cyber Security Challenge and projects for the BBC, 1418NOW, the British Council and The Cream Group.

In light of the business boom, Corporation Pop is expanding its team with a trio of new appointments.

Jess Bolton joins the management team as the company’s first Client Services Director. She has been tasked with growing revenues to help the business meet its ambitious growth targets by developing relationships with new and existing clients. Jess brings with her over 10 years experience, most recently at MMP Global.

Corporation Pop has also recruited two developers to work on a range of games and applications. Tim Saunders joins the team as an App Developer after spending four years freelancing building web-based games for clients including the BBC, Cartoon Network, Sony, ITV and Samsung. He’d previously held roles with Monumental and Sony.

Liam Duncan joins as Games Developer from Clicks and Links, where he was Lead Developer working on a range of serious games for business applications.

Dom Raban, Managing Director at Corporation Pop said: “2016 has been the best year in the company’s history. This is down to our continued commitment to remain ahead of the curve, investment in our people and re-focus on retained business.

“As well as increasing our technical capabilities we have welcomed a new member to the senior team. Jess brings with her a wealth of experience from delivering successful projects for global clients across a wide range of technologies and platforms. She is passionate about creating engaging experiences that put the customer at the heart of the journey, so a perfect fit.

“All our new hires will consolidate our position as one of the North’s leading interactive agencies.”
