£1K Funding boost for regional organisations

A local football club and medical research charity are the latest recipients of a regional housebuilder’s funding scheme.

Banbury United Football Club and Alfie’s Journey Fund have each been awarded £1,000 as part of the Persimmon Homes Midlands Community Champions scheme. The national match-funding programme seeks to support local groups and charities working to improve the quality of life or environment for the community. Banbury United Football Club is a thriving community club based in Oxfordshire. The club operates both male and female teams as well as disabled and junior clubs. A £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes will help to fund much-needed end of season pitch works, enabling an increased use of the pitch for the community including local league competition matches. For more information about the club visit http://www.banburyunitedfc.co.uk Alfie’s Journey Fund is a project that raises awareness for Paediatric Brain Tumours as well as fundraising for vital research to help children diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), highly aggressive and difficult treat tumours found in the brain stem. The donation from Persimmon Homes will help to raise awareness of the condition and its signs and symptoms.
