Bolton nursery creates jobs and targets growth following £580k refurb
A nursery has expanded its capacity and taken on new members of staff after carrying out a six-figure refurbishment at its premises in Horwich, Bolton.
With a £580k funding boost from Yorkshire Bank, bosses at Future Champions Day Nursery were able to strengthen their offer with an additional 30 child spaces and hire five new members of staff.
Following the refurb, which converted the first and second floors of the firm’s building on Chorley Old Road into new nursery and office space, Future Champions now employs a team of 25 and has space for up to 90 youngsters.
The company is expecting its turnover to rise from £650k to £1m as a result of the investment, and hopes to establish a second site in Wigan this summer that should create a further 10 jobs.
The six-figure funding package was arranged by Andrew Gleave, a Bolton-based relationship manager with Yorkshire Bank.
Future Champions’ director and owner Hannah Twist, who founded the company in 2014 on the back of 20 years’ experience in the childcare sector, said: “Our relationship manager has diligently taken the time to understand our business and appreciates the opportunities and challenges we face.
“The personable service Andrew delivers was really what sealed the deal for us and encouraged us to switch to Yorkshire Bank.”
She continued: “At Future Champions, we are focused on providing the very best environment for the development of our staff and the children they care for.
“This funding has allowed us to further invest in our premises and open our doors to more customers in the Horwich area. We are hoping to soon welcome the Wigan community too and are currently exploring opportunities in that area.”
Today, Hannah Twist runs the company alongside her business partner, Hannah Bracegirdle.
Yorkshire Bank’s Manchester-based head of business and private banking, Sean Williams, commented: “Future Champions Day Nursery has significantly increased its turnover and customer base since it opened a little over two years ago.
“Hannah is a standout example of an individual with a wealth of experience in the care industry taking the ambition to set up her own business and build an impressive reputation in the local area.”
He added: “We are proud to have supported the recent refurbishment and look forward to working with Future Champions as the business continues to flourish.”
