North Yorkshire quantity surveyor to create new jobs with Glasgow expansion
A North Yorkshire chartered quantity surveyor has expanded operations north of the border by opening a new office in Glasgow.
Harrogate-based Cooper & Hall, which specialises in pre-construction services and corporate recovery, has also appointed Grant Cameron to head up the firm’s new Scottish arm.
Grant, who has experience in dispute resolution, will be based in Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, and his arrival takes the number of people employed by the firm to 14.
One of his first jobs will be to appoint a number of senior quantity surveyors to the company, specifically to work with construction firms operating across Scotland.
Phil cooper, Cooper & Hall director, said: “Our expansion into Scotland marks a new and very exciting chapter in our history.
“Whilst we work with clients all over England and Wales, we have not really had the resources to fully exploit opportunities north if the border, hence this move.
“A native Glaswegian, Grant brings with him knowledge of the local construction industry, plus his experience of dispute resolution adds another dimension to our business.
“There are always disputes in the construction industry, and, thanks to Grant’s appointment, this is now an area we can operate in. It is an extra string to our bow and a very important one at that.”
Graham Hall, Cooper & Hall’s co-director, added: “Over the last few years we have been steadily growing our business by employing people who add real value, and Grant fits the bill perfectly.
“We are very much looking forward to having him on board as an integral part of the Cooper & Hall team, and helping us establish a firm foothold in Scotland.”
Prior to joining Cooper & Hall, Grant was employed with Saint-Gobain in Glasgow as its head of operations for Scotland and Northern England, after being promoted from his initial position of senior quantity surveyor for the same region.
Grant concluded: “I’d like to thank Phil and Graham for giving me this golden opportunity. Heading up Cooper & Hall in Scotland is a challenge I’m relishing, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued success of this well respected firm.”
