Explore Learning raise hundreds for Roald Dahl Charity
Popular tuition provider, Explore Learning, which has 120 centres across the UK has been busy raising money for its new charity partner, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
Teams took part in the Windsor Colour Run where they were doused with colour powder, dodged sponge balls, tumbled through inflatable castles and sped down giant slides. Foamy slip ‘n’ slides, water balloon mayhem and other surprises completed the challenge along the way.
Rob Hicks, Managing Director at Explore Learning says: “We are really proud of the team for their efforts and very excited to be continuing momentum with our fundraising. We began supporting Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity earlier this year and this marks our third successful event. We are looking forward to raising even more for this fantastic cause throughout the rest of the year.”
Meanwhile, a team of tutors attended the Undiagnosed Children’s Day at Birmingham Children’s Hospital where they interacted with the children, provided arts and craft activities, colouring and reading stories. The team also raised spirits as they took it in turn to entertain the children in the charity’s Marvin the Mascot costumer.
Sophie Dziwinski, Senior Programmes Manager at Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity says: “The event was a great success there was a wonderful atmosphere helped by the amazing Explore Learning volunteers, who were absolutely brilliant - so helpful, full of positive energy and enthusiasm.”
Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which is headquartered in Amersham, close to the former home of the late Roald Dahl in Great Missenden, supports seriously ill children who have the biggest needs, namely those with a serious rare or undiagnosed condition, and often living in poverty.
Over 30,000 children from across the UK attend Explore Learning’s 120 centres each week. Explore Learning’s 3,000 staff will be taking part in a number of events over the next year to reach an ambitious £12,000 target.
