North East furniture manufacturer to show off wares at prestigious London design festival

Renowned North East furniture manufacturer Godfrey Syrett is to show off its range of office and commercial furniture at the prestigious Clerkenwell Design Week.

Taking place this week from 24th May to 26th, the Killingworth and Durham-based firm will rub shoulders with other leading UK and international brands as one of the event’s showroom partners.

Now in its seventh year, the festival takes place in the design hub of Clerkenwell, which claims to house more creative businesses and architects per square than anywhere else in the world, and has a full programme of showroom events, exhibitions and installations.

David Hall, sales director at Godfrey Syrett, believes the furniture maker’s appearance at such a high profile event will be a great way to show off some of the region’s design pedigree.

He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our North East talent and gain recognition at what is a very highly regarded event in the design world.”

Founded in 1947, the firm now employs 230 people across its base in Killingworth and logistics hub in Durham, and boasts its own UK-wide delivery fleet.

It has recently launched what David dubs its ‘biggest design project to date’, a reconfigurable workspace seating concept called Zip, and the firm has also won exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the Mr Jones soft seating range which it will be showing off at Clerkenwell.

He added: “This is the first time we have partnered up with the event and we are very excited to be exhibiting some of our designer products at this vibrant festival.”
