Barratt Homes Manchester searches for Legacy partners
Community groups, charities, schools and colleges in the North West are being invited to come forward to apply for new funds available from Barratt Homes’ dedicated community initiative, the Barratt Legacy Programme.
Barratt Legacy is a unique community initiative run by Barratt Homes Manchester. Founded by company MD, Neil Goodwin, the purpose of the scheme is to find opportunities where the company is able to leave a lasting legacy in an area. This means towns, villages and communities are able to benefit from Barratt’s presence for years to come.
Since its conception in 2010, Barratt Legacy Programme has donated over £120,000 to community projects across the region, and has pledged to step up support still further during 2016/17.
It receives hundreds of applications a year, which are considered on a case by case basis by Barratt Legacy’s board, which meets regularly to agree where resources can be allocated.
The Legacy Programme has now been incorporated throughout the Barratt Manchester area, which stretches from Lancaster to Crewe
The Programme creates special relationships with local community groups, charitable organisations, schools and colleges. Groups can apply for a financial contribution of £1-£1000 to help enhance the area in which they live, whether that be providing a charitable service, enhancing the local environment, or offering educational facilities.
Through the programme, the house builder offers everything from building materials and skilled tradesmen to training and even cash donations for community projects.
Barratt Homes Manchester Managing Director, Neil Goodwin said:
“Every Barratt Homes development becomes an integral part of the surrounding community. We don’t want to simply build homes and move on; our vision is to build the homes of the future where people want to live and to leave a lasting legacy in those areas.
“Barratt Manchester Legacy Programme is incredibly important to our business and we are now pleased to invite funding requests for the next financial year. Whilst we can’t help every not for profit project or organisation that applies – we consider every single case very carefully, and take immense pride in the small contributions we are able to make.”
