Metro eco welcomes new apprentice
Huddersfield based firm, Metro eco welcome their new electrical apprentice to the team as it celebrates its success over the past few years.
Matthew Rogers joined Metro eco following a six-month study period at local training provider, KITS. The budding football enthusiast has followed his passions and started his electrical career at the age of 17 after completing his GCSEs. Matthew hopes that the apprenticeship will offer him the opportunity to earn and learn on the job whilst developing his skills.
The recruitment move comes on the back of their previous success in taking on several apprentices and training them in specific roles to support the development of the business. Investing in employees from an early age and providing training is vital as apprentices are a key part of the northern trade economy and has been a positive step in the expansion of Metro eco.
Commenting on the new apprentice, Thomas Shaw, managing director at Metro eco said: “We have always been keen advocates of apprenticeships and are proud to say that all, except two, of our staff members came to us as apprentices. When I met Matthew I knew he was a passionate individual who had heaps of potential. Since Matthew has started working for us, he has exceeded our expectations and has been a great addition to the team. We hope that Matthew will continue to thrive with Metro eco and we can provide him with a secure and happy career in the foreseeable future. “
Metro eco plan to continue to support young, local people by providing more apprenticeship opportunities over the coming years.
