Launchpad for Edtech Businesses
Edtech is one of the fastest growing tech sectors across Britain, but it hasn’t reached its full potential yet. According to an Edtech trends for 2016 report from EdTechXGlobal and IBIS Capital, only 2% of the education market is currently digitised – despite the market now being worth more than $5 trillion worldwide.
Support for the Northern Edtech sector
Last year, Edtech UK led by The Education Foundation was established to accelerate the recent growth of the UK’s education and learning technology sector and is going to launch the first Edtech North event next week.
At durhamlane, not only are we big believers in the Northern tech sector but Managing Partner Richard Lane, has direct experience of Edtech as a previous Regional Sales Director of Skillsoft, the world’s largest e-learning company. We help innovative companies strengthen their business and achieve rapid growth. With first-hand experience in working with Edtech companies like The Test Factory, Pebble, CLS Performance Solutions, Webanywhere and Commelius Solutions we have extensive knowledge about this evolving industry.
As a partner and supporter of Sunderland Software City, we are delighted to see them hosting the first Edtech North networking event. It will bring together academics, educators, tech start-ups, companies, investors and innovators from across the UK to share learning and trends across the Edtech space.
“We already have a strong cluster of Edtech companies in the North so we should be using more of these home grown innovations to teach more people technology skills in efficient and productive ways”, says Billy Webber, COO of Sunderland Software City.
Attend the Edtech network event and take the opportunity to meet with thought leaders in this field. We hope to meet you there!
