Forbes Dawson consultant wins World Prize in exam
Forbes Dawson is celebrating the recent exam success of tax adviser Rebecca Bedford who has obtained the highest mark in the world with the Society of Trust Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Senior Tax Consultant, Rebecca, achieved her success in the STEP Advanced Certificate UK Tax for International Clients. Rebecca achieved a mark of 82% against a pass mark of 50%. The exam is taken across a number of global financial centres including – but not limited to – London, Geneva, British Virgin Islands, Singapore and Zurich.
Rebecca has worked at Forbes Dawson since the business was founded four years ago. Having qualified as a chartered accountant in 2012 and as a chartered tax adviser in 2013, Rebecca advises UK clients on a variety of tax issues including inheritance tax planning, UK and offshore trust advice and any aspect of personal tax. Her recent exam success is testimony to her knowledge and commitment in these areas.
Commenting on her achievement, Rebecca said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes when I received the email congratulating me on my results. All of my exams to date have been challenging and with each pass comes a massive sense of achievement, but this is, without a doubt, the highlight of my career so far.
“On a personal level I am completely thrilled, but what’s more important is that I have already been able to harness the knowledge obtained during study for the Advanced Certificate and translate it into delivering effective results for clients.”
Partner at Forbes Dawson, Laura Hutchinson, commented: “Rebecca’s achievement is truly outstanding. We know that it’s not easy to juggle a full-time job alongside study but Rebecca manages to do both, and achieve a fantastic result to boot.
“Rebecca has been at the firm since inception and I have had the pleasure of working alongside her for much longer. It’s easy to talk about what an attribute Rebecca is to the firm - this result speaks for itself. All I wish to say is massive congratulations to Rebecca.”
