Graduate success for Approach PR
Ilkley-based public relations consultancy, Approach PR is signalling its continued successes with two in-house promotions.
In a year that sees the former Graduate Employer of the Year agency celebrate its 15th anniversary, a re-brand and four client wins in five months, Approach PR has announced internal changes to its award-winning team.
Leeds Beckett University student Rebekha White (22) joined Approach PR in 2014 to begin a 12-month sandwich placement as part of her degree BA (Hons) Public Relations and Communications. Awaiting graduation, she has returned full-time to the consultancy after being promoted to account executive. The promotion will see Rebekha take on new responsibilities in client handling and campaign management.
Speaking about her promotion, Rebekha said: “Working with Approach through the final two years of my degree has developed my abilities beyond what I could have imagined. It has been great to build my portfolio and expertise surrounded by a team with so much passion and industry experience. I am very excited to see where my new role will take me!”
Founder and managing director at Approach PR, Suzanne Watson, said: “Rebekha is the second graduate we’ve taken on from Leeds Beckett University and we have been very impressed by the calibre of candidates. After two years in the team, it’s difficult to imagine Approach PR without Rebekha in it, so we are delighted that, as a reflection of her commitment to her future in PR, she is staying on as a full time consultant. Rebekha was born for PR and we’re delighted we have the opportunity to nurture and witness her growth as she continues on this exciting career journey.”
Bradford-born, University of Huddersfield graduate Anisha Mistry (25) joined the agency after graduating in 2013 and now has now received her second promotion to senior account executive. Anisha has demonstrated her PR abilities after working on long-standing client accounts such as Mobalpa Kitchens, Airedale Chemical and the Business Enterprise Fund.
Anisha said: “I am extremely grateful to Approach PR for believing in me just one week after my final university hand in! We’re entering an exciting era at the consultancy and I am very much looking forward to tackling my new job role and further responsibilities in developing this business.”
Suzanne added: “Anisha is the back bone of our agency and an absolute delight to work with. She and Rebekha are proof that giving students and graduates valued experience and opportunities pays off. We expect Anisha to continue flourishing as she takes another step up the PR career ladder.”
