North Yorkshire tech firm to assist in JWF international expansion
Swinton Technology, the Malton-based tech company, is to assist oil and gas engineering firm JWF expand into new international markets.
Glasgow-headquartered JWF has announced a joint venture with Swinton Technology that will see JWF provide hardware, including meters and other instrumentation, along with Swinton Technology software.
Swinton’s “Prognosis” (DP Diagnostics) software, which provides real-time malfunction alerts and assurance of DP meter accuracy, is used by global oil and gas operators in both onshore and offshore operations.
Founded in 1962, JWF supplies the process industry with a range of technologies that are used to measure variables including flow, pressure, temperature and level.
In November last year JWF, which has offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Teesside, announced that it had broken the £10m turnover milestone for the first time after winning a number of major North Sea contracts.
The company is now looking to win new business in established and emerging overseas markets.
Swinton Technology specialises in supplying flow computer metering systems and also has offices in Dubai and Malaysia.
Craig McLaren, general manager at JWF Metering, said: “The Oil and Gas industry is under a lot of pressure at the moment with operators looking for creative ways to cut costs.”
“Our collaboration with Swinton is an example of how JWF will use innovative ways to make life easier for our customers and facilitate a cultural change.
“For our customers it means they will have one integrated point of contact, which will save them time and money.”
Jennifer Rabone, product manager at Swinton Technology, added: “The alliance with JWF will offer the end user a cost effective and ‘hassle-free’ route to implementing the field requirements/modifications necessary for Prognosis.”
