Moore and Smalley becomes £14m-turnover firm

Moore and Smalley, the North West accountants and business advisory firm, has achieved its best year to date in terms of turnover and workforce figures.

The company saw its turnover rise from £12.8m to £14.2m, an increase of 11%, while employee numbers grew by 13% to 277.

Moore and Smalley, which operates from sites in Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria and the East Midlands, has cited an increasing demand for specialist advice as a significant growth driver along with the introduction of new services.

In the last year, the firm launched hubs in Manchester and Liverpool and welcomed 31 new faces to its growing team, including partner Jon Pinder and financial planning consultant Andrew Selby.

Graham Gordon, who has served as Moore and Smalley’s managing partner since 2013, said: “Our accountancy and audit services continue to perform well but we’ve seen major growth in specialist departments.

“Our tax team is now one of the largest in the region and our corporate finance team has seen a rise in deal transactions.”

He continued: “We have also launched a new cloud accountancy service for small enterprises and the self-employed called SE+, which has resonated with digital savvy business owners looking to utilise new technology.”

Speaking further, Graham said the company’s investment in its credentials as an employer has helped it “attract the right people” for unlocking growth.

He added: “People are naturally at the heartbeat of our service and we have a very strong HR team that has positioned Moore and Smalley as a firm of choice for bright talent.”
