Barratt help keep local school safe
Children at Medlar with Wesham C of E Primary School in Wesham, Lancashire, have been presented with high-visibility vests by the local Barratt Homes team from nearby development, The Spinnings.
The vests were donated to the primary school as part of a National Walk to School initiative supported by Barratt Homes to help keep local children safe when walking to and from school and on school trips.
Julie Parry, sales advisor at The Spinnings, said: “We want to help school children in the local community stay safe when out walking, and offering high-visibility vests is a simple and effective way for them to be clearly seen by motorists. It’s part of our commitment to community involvement, and one that we take very seriously.”
Julie Parkinson, Business Manager at Medlar with Wesham C of E Primary School, thanked Barratt Homes for the vests.
She said: “We try to encourage as many of our pupils as possible to walk to school in a safe and sensible fashion. It is great to see a developer support such a valuable initiative and we really appreciate the donation from Barratt Homes.”
Walk to School Week is organised by national charity Living Streets, and aims to get schoolchildren across the country out of the car and walking to school every day for a week, making them healthier, happier, and doing their part to reduce air pollution through carbon emissions.
The Spinnings offers a selection of 3 and 4 bedroom homes from £181,450.
