Dreamr Academy supports Girls in Tech
App Idea reaches National Finals
Independent Girls’ Boarding School, Woldingham, has called on Dreamr’s expert help to further their ambition of a visit to Buckingham Palace and accept a significant cash prize from the Duke of York.
App development and design agency Dreamr were delighted to send CEO Mylo Kaye and Head of Aspiration Lynne Makinson-Walsh down to Surrey to mentor a group of Woldingham students and help them produce a prototype for their app idea My School Trip, an app devised to help teachers organise exciting, well-planned and safe school trips.
The girls have already wowed the judges with their idea and been shortlisted in the prestigious Teentech competition, championed by former Tomorrow’s World presenter Maggie Philbin.
Lynne commented:
“The timescales were very tight, given how busy we are with client projects right now, but we felt passionate that as part of our Dreamr Academy initiative, this is something we wanted to do our very best to support, particularly as this is encouraging more girls into the exciting world of technology and digital.”
The finals take place on June 20th in London.
