Historic hall teams up with prestigious Leeds caterers
North Yorkshire-based Rudby Hall has named a popular Leeds catering company as its new catering supplier for its guests.
Ninety-Nine Catering is headed by experienced chef, Joshua Angell, and the company’s executive chef, Paul Halifax, and works with a host of prestigious venues including Sarah Beeny’s Rise Hall in East Yorkshire, Troxy in East London, Duke Studios in Leeds and The De Grey Rooms in York.
Award-winning Rudby Hall, a former royal residence dating back to the 19th Century, opened in September 2014 and is home to 13 suites and extensive wedding, corporate and events facilities set in 10 acres of land with lawns reaching the River Leven.
The Georgian hall, which is Grade II*- listed putting it in the top 7% of all listed properties in the UK, was built for King William IV’s daughter, Lady Amelia Cary, and boasts a range of reception rooms, various lounges with traditional, open fires, a cosy bar and bedrooms featuring luxury facilities such as high speed broadband, Wi-Fi and flat screen TVs.
As part of Rudby Hall’s commitment to providing guests with a premium offering, managers spent several months selecting the new catering suppliers. Ninety-Nine Catering works with a range of high profile clients including the University of Oxford, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes and Mazars to name a few.
Sandra Johnson said: “This year we have bookings for some very high profile events and we need exceptional suppliers as we continually grow. We wanted to work with a company that offers something different and was also a well-respected Yorkshire business. Joshua and his team have a superb reputation and have worked with some outstanding venues.”
Joshua added: “We are delighted to have been appointed exclusive caterers at Rudby Hall and we’re looking forward to working with the team on some fantastic events. Rudby Hall joins our partnered venue programme which is ever expanding as we continue to think differently about delivering exceptional event catering at prestigious venues for discerning diners.”
Husband and wife team Martin and Sandra Johnson run the hall and themselves live on site with their family. Rudby Hall, restored by Teesside based regeneration specialists Python Properties, has hosted a range of dignitaries over the years, such as MPs, Prime Ministers and members of the Royal family. The historic home hit the headlines when Liam Gallagher and his partner, Debbie Gwyther, were among the first to stay whilst attending a wedding in the area.
Both in 2015 and 2016, Rudby Hall has received global recognition for its consistently high standards as it has been named as a TripAdvisor Service Excellence Winner. The award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve impressive reviews. The award itself is based on the reviews provided by guests giving top ratings for service standards.
