Practical advice for horse owners and businesses

The biggest worries and legal concerns keeping horse owners and equine business owners awake at night are to be tackled head-on at a new free event featuring equine law specialists from Cheltenham firm Lodders.

Lodders’ first Equine Law Seminar on Wednesday 6th July at its Cheltenham office on Imperial Square is a chance for people who make their living from horses or are a keen amateur rider, to get practical legal advice on a range of equine-related issues.

“The most common queries we receive are about topics including sale and purchase disputes, what to include in a written agreement for livery or grazing, and what they should do in the face of a legal claim,” explains Natalie Smith, an equine law specialist and associate in Lodders’ Cheltenham office-based private client team.

“Our speakers at the event are each specialists in relevant areas of the law, such as dispute resolution, corporate and commercial, and contract law, and work alongside and as part of Lodders’ dedicated equine team.

“The aim for the seminar is to deliver practical and useful guidance with tips and legal advice that will benefit private horse owners as well as individuals running or working in a business in the equine world.”

The Equine Law Seminar runs from 2pm to 3.15pm, and includes refreshments and nibbles and the opportunity to talk one-to-one with Lodders’ equine team.
