Ben & Jerry’s and Deliveroo to trial ice cream delivery service
Ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s has partnered up with food courier Deliveroo to trial a new delivery service.
Later this month, Ben & Jerry’s and Deliveroo will work together to bring ice cream directly to the doorsteps and desks of customers in London and Dublin, with a view to eventually embarking on a wider rollout of the offer.
For London-based lovers of ice cream, Ben & Jerry’s will be tweeting about its S’Wich Up Your Break partnership with Deliveroo until June 17 and picking from those who register their interest with the #WichBreak hashtag along with the first part of their London postcode.
The winners will receive a free delivery on June 30.
Christina Dunn, Ben & Jerry’s country lead for the UK and Ireland, said: “At Ben & Jerry’s, we’re always looking for new ways to bring our Fairtrade flavours closer to the hearts and spoons of our fans.
“Whether it’s a cookie ice cream combo like the ‘Wich to S’Wich up your tea break, or a classic Ben & Jerry’s tub to share with friends and family at home, we want to help provide that sweet treat SOS!”
She added: “We’re really excited to be trialling these pilot delivery services with our friends at Deliveroo!”
Founded in the US in 1978, today Ben & Jerry’s operates a network of 227 scoop shops across the UK and Ireland.
Kate Thomas, Deliveroo’s head of PR, commented: “Ben & Jerry’s is one of the best loved ice cream makers in the world.
“We know our customers in London and Dublin will be as thrilled about the start of this partnership as we are!”
