Newcastle MP meets young entrepreneurs over EU Referendum
Newcastle Upon Tyne Central MP Chi Onwurah met with local young entrepreneurs at an event organised by the EU Small Business campaign to call for small business owners to vote to remain in the European Union at the Referendum on June 23rd.
“The North East has had one of the largest increases in small business start-ups in recent years and more than 30,000 SMEs in the North East either trade in Europe or are part of the supply chain for businesses that that do,” she said. “Why would we want to jeopardise that by leaving the EU Single Market with its 500 million consumers, creating economic uncertainty at home that could have serious implications for small business owners in Newcastle and across the region?”
