Local people feature in new cosmetic surgery show
Tunbridge Wells-based cosmetic surgery clinic, Bella Vou, opened its operating theatres to film crews this week to record a new behind-the-scenes television documentary.
The fly-on-the-wall show, which is being produced by three-time BAFTA-winner Peter Urie, will follow local patients as they undergo a variety of cosmetic procedures, including facelifts, tummy tucks, breast augmentations, arm lifts and ear correction surgery.
Auditions were held earlier in the month to find deserving local candidates, who will benefit from receiving free cosmetic surgery procedures at Bella Vou’s Pantiles Clinic. The documentary will provide viewers with an insight into their motivations for choosing cosmetic surgery and a look at the pioneering surgical techniques that the clinic specialises in.
The show’s Producer, Peter Urie, commented: “For many of the individuals featured, such procedures were previously out of reach, so we are making dreams a reality by offering free procedures which would ordinarily cost thousands of pounds.”
The new show is rumoured to be presented by a renowned female beauty journalist and TV presenter, and features interviews with local patients and clinic staff, including lead cosmetic surgeon Amir Nakhdjevani, the pioneer behind the revolutionary ConceptTM Facelift.
Commenting on the new programme, Amir Nakhdjevani said: “Cosmetic surgery used to be reserved for the rich and famous, but now it’s a popular option for anybody who wants to address areas of their body that they’re unhappy with. This show is a very exciting opportunity for us to share our clients’ stories and explore modern cosmetic surgical techniques, which challenge many people’s held perceptions that such procedures were vain and shallow.
“We hope that the show will reinforce our message that patients should always research their options carefully, make an informed decision on what’s best for them, and choose a professional, qualified surgeon. Sometimes the best procedure is no procedure at all, but cosmetic surgery can unlock the door to a brighter life to those struggling with lack of confidence and low self esteem as a result of disfiguring trauma, birth defect, genetic or age-related concerns.”
