Events agency surprise clients and fundraise for Manorlands
Yorkshire’s Simply Better Events, is taking to the hills and dales of the region in a converted vintage Citroen H van to visit clients at their offices, as the events agency celebrates its 15th anniversary.
Simply Better Events, founded in 2001 by Chris Holt, is marking its birthday this summer by travelling to clients to thank them personally for their support. The five day ‘tour’ includes stops in Bradford, Leeds, Skipton, Rotherham, Wakefield and York with clients including first direct and Skipton Building Society.
The company has a few surprises in store for their customers, who have pre-arranged times booked to meet the agency, but the rest is to be revealed.
MD, Rob Woodhead, said:
“The company would not be where it is today without our clients, so we wanted to involve them in our birthday celebrations. We appreciate that people have busy schedules so we wouldn’t expect them to take too much time away from their work to see us, which led to the idea of all of us going to visit them. As we are not just your average events agency, and we like to add value to people’s experiences, we decided to create an ‘event’ for them in their own car parks.”
The refurbished vehicle will cover 231 miles in total and the 17 strong team at the company plan to cover the same distance between them on foot this summer to fundraise for local hospice, Sue Ryder Manorlands. The items they buy for the road trip will also be auctioned off for the hospice.
Hayley Ibbotson, Senior Hospice Fundraiser, Manorlands Hospice, said: “It’s great that Simply Better Events have chosen to support us and I love their idea to raise funds by covering the same distance that they travel in the van between them on foot. It’s nice that that their whole team are going to be involved in supporting the hospice with this unique challenge, as we rely on voluntary donations to continue our work providing incredible care in the community. I’m sure they’ll have a fantastic time surprising their clients along the way.’
