MIS AMS actively supports North West graduate talent
Northwich based MIS Active Management Systems (MIS AMS) is now in its third year of supporting talented graduates from John Moores University in Liverpool with the newest recruit starting his work placement year this month.
Chris McLaughlin, Managing Director of MIS AMS, a placement year graduate himself, is always keen to support the talented young business men and women of the future that the North West produces:
“We’ve all been graduates once and know how difficult it can be to find that all-important first job when leaving education. I want to make sure that I make that leap for some graduates that bit easier by supporting their learning in their work placement year.
“Being a graduate from John Moores myself I wanted to focus on supporting the university that gave me the grass roots knowledge that has seen me progress in business and the IT and telecoms sector.”
The current undergraduate, now titled ‘Software Developer’ working with the number one provider of housing management systems across the UK, is 24-year-old Cyber Security student Tom Rose:
“I saw the advertisement for the position through the university boards and jumped at the chance to work at MIS AMS and I haven’t looked back. The team has really given me a full in-depth role which I wasn’t expecting - but love! I was worried I would just be overseeing work or sat on the sidelines, but here I really am doing the role as if I was a full-time employee.
“My position has also seen me focus on the mobile app side of MIS-AMS products, which has been really interesting and I have experienced different technology. I am excited to put everything I have learnt so far back into my studies when I return there in September. Getting out into the workplace really does give you something books and lectures can’t provide and I thank all the team for their on-going support.”
All students who join MIS AMS are taken through a bespoke training program to learn highly technical skills in how to develop and maintain the current portfolio of products.
Chris ends: “I’m thrilled with how well Tom is doing, he has shown skills and knowledge beyond his years and is making a fantastic addition to our team. I am excited to welcome our next recruit this month and again expand our work-force with fresh and gifted talent.”
All graduates derive from a variety of IT courses at the university from Computer Studies to Software Engineering.
