Ladies treat themselves for charity
Around 40 local women attended Newcastle’s Crowne Plaza to enjoy a pamper evening organised by the Women Lawyers’ Division to raise funds for outdoor adventure charity Calvert Trust Kielder.
Ladies enjoyed drinks and canapés, mini massages courtesy of Mr Ng Wan, talk and make up demos from local Forever Living business owners and a raffle with prizes including a family adventure ticket for Calvert Trust Kielder, golf vouchers and afternoon tea at the Crowne Plaza.
The evening raised more than £200. Catherine Little, fundraising manager at Calvert Trust Kielder said: “It is absolutely fantastic to get support like this from the business community and we are really grateful to the Women Lawyers’ Division, Parklane Plowden Chambers, Forever Living and to everyone who came along and supported the evening.
“The continued support of local and regional businesses, organisations and individuals keeps the charity, and more importantly, our work with disabled adults and children going so they, and these fundraising events, are absolutely vital to us.Thank you.”
Clare Thompson, a partner at Hay & Kilner Solicitors, chairs the North East WLD and helped to organise the event said, “It was a great evening, with an opportunity for our members to network, try out some new products and have fun whilst supporting a really worthwhile charity. Thank you to everyone who supported the event, ensuring it was a great success!”.
All proceeds from the event will be used to help disabled people and their families to experience life changing outdoor adventure at Calvert Trust Kielder, located in the stunning Kielder Water & Forest Park, Northumberland.
