New affordable housing scheme for Middlesbrough
A new housing development in Middlesbrough offering homes for affordable rent has officially opened its doors.
Erimus Housing, part of the Thirteen Group, has developed 26 properties in Netherfields on the site of the former Fulbeck House, which was demolished in 2009.
The new homes, which received £687,500 funding from the Homes and Communities Agency, are spacious and contemporary houses and bungalows to meet a range of needs.
Twenty-four two-bedroom houses, as well as two two-bedroom bungalows with level access bathing facilities, have been built by contractor Keepmoat Regeneration.
A number of tenants have already moved into the new homes, with the final properties due to be let.
Alison Thain, chief executive of Thirteen Group, said: “This is a significant development that provides much-needed homes for affordable rent for local people.
“We are delighted to be able to provide more high-quality homes for Middlesbrough and we look forward to enhancing this already vibrant community.”
