Brass Wins five trophies at IPM Marketing Awards
Leeds-based marketing agency Brass scored an amazing five awards - two gold, a silver, and two bronze trophies - at the prestigious Institute of Promotional Marketing (IPM) Awards ceremony at the London Hilton on the 14th of June 2016. Presenting a number of awards at the IPM Awards Gala Dinner, Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, tweeted Brass on the night, comparing their impressive win with the Leeds Olympic champions, the Brownlee brothers: “Fantastic, congrats, what a haul @BrassAgency, all those medals, like the #Brownlees! You’ve done #Leeds proud!“
With a background of working in Marketing, Greg Mulholland has been particularly impressed by the prolific win by Brass, commenting: “I was delighted to be at the 2016 IPM Awards and see Brass Agency, based in Headingley have such a great night. They had a fantastic night winning two gold, a silver, and two bronze, and as their local MP and a former promotional marketer, I am very proud! Such success only comes when you show real creativity and effectiveness and it is great to see Brass succeeding in national awards, helping their clients grow their businesses and helping drive the economy, they have done themselves and Leeds proud!“
Announced at The IPM Awards Gala Dinner, the coveted gold trophies were won by Brass Shopper in the categories of ‘On Pack Promotion’ and ‘Shopper Marketing Campaign’, while the silver and two bronze accolades were awarded in the categories of ‘Partnership Marketing Campaign’, ‘Consumer Products – Food’ and ‘Trial and Awareness Campaign’ respectively. All five awards were presented for Brass Shopper’s ‘Meet the Minions’ multi-channel promotional campaign for the Soreen malt loaf brand.
The impressive five trophy win in the IPM Awards follows the gold FAB Award won by Brass last month for the Soreen Minions marketing campaign.
Created by Brass for the UK’s favourite malt loaf, the Soreen Minions campaign included an on pack promotion to ‘Meet the Minions’ at Universal Studios USA, plus runners up prizes of private screenings of the ‘Minions’ film, last summer’s huge animated blockbuster. Brass also negotiated the rights to the film for the brand, and created and executed all key campaign elements including entry website, in-store display units in 2,000 supermarkets, and national outdoor poster advertising.
The 2016 IPM Awards shortlisted 96 brands for awards in 32 separate main categories, covering client industry sectors, media channels, objectives and techniques, plus four special categories. The IPM Awards Gala was compared by comedian and TV personality, Bill Bailey, who presented the award to Brass, with all winning entries now automatically submitted for the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) European Awards to be announced in September.
Upon receiving the double accolade, Paul McGann, Managing Partner at Brass, commented: “We’re over the moon that Brass have won gold in two categories at the IPM Awards. Following our recent gold at the FAB Awards, it is a real testament to the quality and creativity of the work that’s produced by the Brass Shopper Marketing team.“
