Generator and Campus North join forces to support region's tech startups

Tech firms in the North East are set to benefit from a new partnership between two of the region’s biggest digital and creative organisations.

The new agreement between Campus North and Generator, announced today, will see creative and digital firms in the region’s burgeoning tech sector offered more joined-up and comprehensive support as they look to grow their businesses.

Akin to Generator’s recent partnership with Sunderland Software City, the Ouseburn-based business support group will offer advice, master classes and workshops as part of Campus North’s community of digital businesses in the North East.

Following today’s announcement, Jim Mawdsley, Chief Executive Officer of Generator, commented: “We are committed to growing the Creative and Digital Sector in the North East and are extremely keen to partner with other organisations that share that commitment but have the experience and practical knowledge that is essential for success.

“Generator has a strong track record in collaborating within the North East and wider with the intention of increasing the effectiveness of all its programmes.

“I believe that by joining forces with Campus North, as we have done with Sunderland Software City will only further underpin all of our ambition to make the North East a key Global centre for this thriving and rapidly expanding industry.’

Lyndsey Britton, Co-Founder of Campus North, believes this new agreement adds to the organisation’s aim of ‘supporting, promoting and accelerating digital entrepreneurship’ in the region.

She added: “We put the needs of the tech community at the heart of everything we do and are keen to work with others who share our vision and aims. This partnership with Generator will help ensure we’re sharing and making the best use of knowledge, skills and resources to benefit start-ups, entrepreneurs and the North East as a whole.”
