Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK is a winner in the RoSPA awards 2016

The outstanding health and safety record of Ruthin-based Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK has earned a gold national accolade for the eighth year in succession.

The firm has achieved a gold medal in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)

The award will be presented at a ceremony at the ExCeL, London, on June 21, 2016, as the event marks its diamond anniversary.

Jones Bros’ health and safety manager Mike Mowbray, said: “It’s no accident we have achieved this award for the eighth successive year. The issue of health and safety is central to all our activities and we are delighted our commitment has been recognised yet again.

“I’d like to thank our whole workforce for their outstanding efforts which have made this award possible.”

Highly sought-after RoSPA awards go to businesses and organisations that have shown commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.

The non-competitive scheme is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. Entrants are judged on occupational health and safety management systems, including leadership and workforce involvement.

RoSPA’s head of awards and events, Julia Small, said: “To win at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement. It recognises commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to.”

Founded in the 1950s, Jones Bros employs 350 people. It operates across the UK in sectors including construction of waste management facilities, highways and renewable energy projects such as wind farms.
