Online venue platform utilised by Facebook and Instagram completes £500k crowdfund
London-based venue booking platform Hire Space has successfully closed its £500k crowdfunding effort after just six weeks.
The campaign, hosted on crowdfunding platform Crowdcube, launched on 16 May and in that time has attracted funding from over 200 venues, event professionals and private investors.
Founded in 2012, the online firm has attracted the likes of Facebook, Google, Instagram and Red Bull to its venue booking platform, attracting 100,000 visitors a month looking to book one of the 4,000 venues on the site.
Edward Poland, Hire Space co-founder, explained that the business hopes to use the funding to entrench its position at the head of the online venue booking market and further develop its technology offering.
He said: “We’re delighted to have hit our target with time to spare. The response from events professionals has been phenomenal and shows the faith that the UK events community has in Hire Space.
“We’ll use the funds raised to build a business we believe will revolutionise the events industry in the UK and beyond, and to continue to showcase the memorable venues so loved by businesses and the public.”
