Jet2 launches ‘biggest ever’ winter programme from Newcastle Airport
Jet2 has announced its ‘biggest ever’ winter programme from Newcastle Airport.
Providing more than 165,000 seats, available between 30th October 2016 and 25th March 2017, the British low-cost airline is offering over 50,000 more seats this Winter than in 2015/16 from its North East base.
This growth has been driven by the expansion of existing routes as well as the launch of brand new route to Grenoble, France, as Newcastle continues to play a key role in the firm’s increasing outputs.
Steve Heapy, Chief Executive Officer, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “This is by far our biggest winter programme to date.
“The number of North East people jetting away for some much-needed winter sunshine means we are seeing spectacular growth, and we now have over 130,000 winter sun seats to popular holiday hotspots such as Alicante, the Canary Islands and the Algarve.”
“It isn’t just the sunshine that is driving growth, as our ski and city break destinations are on the up too. As a result we are adding a brand new winter route Grenoble.
“When you combine this with the success of our other winter destinations then it puts us in a very strong position to enjoy our most successful winter yet.”
