Ormskirk retail park secures £6.5m RBS funding deal
Hattersley Retail and Trade Centre in Ormskirk has signed a £6.2m funding deal with The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
The 75,000 sq ft retail park, located in Hattersley, secured the seven-figure boost from RBS’ real estate finance team in Leeds to support its ongoing development strategy.
Owned by the Mackie family, the shopping park comprises eight units and is currently home to retailers Halfords, Home Bargains, Netto, Howdens, Jewsons, Magnet, Tile Giant and Plumbase.
Adam Mackie, who also owns wholesaler YESSS Electrical, said: “Hattersley Retail and Trade Centre is an exciting retail centre in the heart of South Lancashire that provides shoppers with a diverse range of shopping options.
“We chose to work with The Royal Bank of Scotland on this project as the bank understands our business and how we want to develop our property business for the future.”
RBS’ Leeds-based director of real estate finance, Jonathan Ellis, said he believes Adam and the management team behind Hattersley Retail and Trade Centre have an “excellent business growth plan” in place.
He commented: “We were delighted to provide support for the Hattersley Retail and Trade Centre which will continue to provide local residents with a retail environment for their everyday needs.
“We wish the business every success for the future.”
