North East WiFi suppliers re-win exciting contract
North East WiFi supplier’s, KBR, have also retained an exciting contract with Mouth of The Tyne Festival; a North East music festival which will be featuring the likes of LuLu, James Bay and Will Young.
KBR will be installing high speed WiFi for the second year running to ensure the festival’s performers, and their entourage, can easily connect online and communicate with their fans via social media, something which is now expected by performers.
KBR will be providing a high speed wireless broadband service to the historic Tynemouth Priory and Castle. The Birtley-based business has been providing outdoor WiFi solutions since 1999 and will also be providing WiFi to events such as The Tour of Britain and Women’s Tour cycle races for the third year running in 2016.
Gareth Tomlin, KBR’s Technical Director said:
“It can be very challenging to bring high speed broadband to a grade 1 listed building such as the Tynemouth Castle. We know this site is dearly loved by the local residents as well as tourists, because of this, we have mounted the antennas to ensure we don’t damage the building and to avoid drilling into the structure.”
“Providing temporary WiFi solutions is a challenge, however here at KBR we always enjoy demonstrating the benefits of our years of experience and expertise.” “We’re thrilled the Mouth of The Tyne Festival has chosen KBR for the second year running, we always enjoy working with large local events such as this one!”
Bill Miller, Technology Officer at North Tyneside Council said:
“Having WiFi at our annual festival allows us to provide corporate services to the team quickly, it also means we can provide the performers with access to social media and the internet. This is extremely important for the promotion of our festival and the quality of service we provide our customers.”
“We’ve worked with KBR for 12 years, KBR provide us with WiFI that works! Their service from survey, design and installation is always of the highest standard. We know we can trust and rely on them, they always provide us with a workable solution that’s right for us.”
The Mouth of the Tyne festival will be taking place from Thursday 7th July to Sunday 10th July. North East music legend, Bryan Ferry will be kicking off the festival with a special one off concert.
