Investigation into energy industry response
Future Energy, an energy supplier based in and supplying energy to the North East of England, has welcomed the report of the Competition and Markets Authority into the UK Energy Market which was published on Friday 24 June.
The report noted that between 2004 and 2014 average annual gas bills rose by around 125% and domestic electricity prices by around 75%.
The report also noted that 70% of all customers of the “Big Six” energy suppliers are on the default standard variable tariff and could save £300 a year if they switched supplier.
New entrants to the market like Future Energy are now redressing the balance for customers by providing better service and cheaper prices than the “Big Six” suppliers.
Future Energy which was established in 2015 now has over 2,000 domestic customers with a target to be supplying 6,000 customers in the North East by the end of 2016.
Tim Cantle-Jones, CEO of Future Energy said: “The report confirmed what we already know and that is that customers are not getting a good deal from the big energy suppliers.
Future Energy is helping hard working North East families by offering cheaper prices and better service. Most customers who switch to us have saved over £300 on their annual energy bills“
