Leeds Golf Centre renews contract with David Leadbetter

LEEDS GOLF CENTRE RENEWS ITS STATUS AS UK HEADQUARTERS OF THE LEADBETTER GOLF ACADEMY

The home of modern golf has renewed its partnership with world’s number one golf instructor for a further 4 years

Leeds Golf Centre has today announced the continuation of its partnership with David Leadbetter, arguably the most recognised name in golf tuition, reaffirming its status as the UK headquarters of The Leadbetter Golf Academy for a further 4 years.

Leeds Golf Centre was chosen as the UK home to the prestigious Leadbetter Academy in 2013 after receiving critical acclaim for its state-of-the-art teaching facilities and proposition in Leeds. Due to the success of the partnership, Leeds Golf Centre has chosen to extend this.

The Centre employs two certified Leadbetter instructors as part of its six man team of PGA professionals, the most professional instructors the Golf Centre has employed at one time, due to high demand for tuition.

Chris Parker, Leadbetter Academy Manager & Senior Instructor, has been a Certified Leadbetter Instructor since 2003, during which he assisted David Leadbetter coaching players Frederick Jacobsen, Nick Price, Na Yeon Choi and Suzanne Pettersen to name a few, as well as accompanying LPGA Euro Tour players Sandra Gal and Stefanie Michl.

Certified Leadbetter Instructor and PGA professional, Joe Feather, is a former Leeds and Yorkshire player who won PGA trainee of the year in 2011. A former Asian Tour, Alps Tour and Europro Tour Player, Joe has had multiple professional tournament victories.

Over the past 30 years, The Leadbetter Golf Academy tour players have amassed over a dozen Major Championship titles and over 100 individual worldwide tournament victories – indeed, David has often been recognised as the ‘man who invented the golf instruction industry’.

Nigel Sweet, Leeds Golf Centre’s Operations Manager, added: “The Leadbetter Academy has been extremely valuable in strengthening and reinforcing our position as a leading Golf Centre, offering globally recognised golf instruction. It’s a great privilege to renew our partnership for a further four years and continue to offer golfers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to learn from world-class instructors”.
