£500k boost for Alderley Park-based aerospace parts manufacturer

The UK Manufacturing Accelerator, the industrial funding and growth boutique based in Hale, Cheshire, has invested £500k in aerospace composite product firm AVS-SYS.

AVS-SYS, based at Alderley Park, recently launched carbon composite material components for international aircraft manufacturers, expanding on its experience in systems design, engineering and integration.

Malcolm Evans, CEO of The UK Manufacturing Accelerator, said: “This is exactly the kind of high potential growth story we enjoy backing.

“Appetite remains strong for supporting ambitious companies with winning IP and global competitiveness.”

Founded 10 years ago, AVS-SYS supplies products for a range of aircraft, from commercial and military aeroplane to unmanned vehicles.

The firm’s believes its new range of composite parts and components for aircraft, introduced last month, will allow aerospace firms to save money and slash the environmental impact of their operations.

According to a statement on AVS-SYS’ website, the products are up to 40% lighter than the equivalent parts currently on the market.

Paul Heaton, managing director of AVS-SYS, commented: “The UK Manufacturing Accelerator has been a pleasure to work with and its backing and support has enabled us to move our plans forward much more rapidly as we address the global aerospace market.”
