TIBCO platform secures top security accolade from Government

TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration and analytics has announced its social enterprise collaboration platform, tibbr 7, has achieved certification by the Federal Risk and Authorisation Management Program (FedRAMP), verifying it is secure enough to be used by government agencies and business organisations. Having passed the FedRAMP’s programme of standardised security assessment, authorisation, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services, tibbr 7 now also offers advanced social analytics for assessing collaboration activities and free external communities for collaborating with customers, partners, and vendors.

“Security is increasingly important in today’s ever-connected world, especially when dealing with sensitive information shared over social collaboration platforms. Users should feel confident that their projects, ideas, and communications in general are private and safe,” said Mark Palmer, SVP and general manager of analytics engineering, TIBCO. “We’re delighted to announce our FedRAMP certification as it marks one of the highest security achievements in the industry. Additionally, our new advanced analytics and external community features support our goal of enabling digital business transformation to users of all skill levels by providing valuable insights for operational efficiency and extending productivity levels even further.”

Built for the workplace and available both in the cloud and on-premises, tibbr connects people, files, apps, and actions in context, revolutionising the way teams work, collaborate, learn, and share. tibbr 7 can be integrated into other applications, mobile environments, and websites for a customised collaboration experience, regardless of the channel. It also features a simpler administration layout, including flexible role management. Other notable features in tibbr 7 include:

External community creation for working with customers, partners, and/or vendors, with free unlimited external community instances in the hosted version of tibbr;

  • Custom analytics via TIBCO Spotfire that enable users to review collaboration activities such as interdepartmental post activity and trends of content being shared across departments;
  • 360-degree view of collaboration with all content, context, and analytics related to the topic that empowers teams with enhanced visibility; and
  • Integration capabilities that allow users to incorporate tibbr features into the systems employees already use - apps, websites, mobile, and more - so they can take better advantage of them.

“Recent U.S. government incidents regarding the improper sharing of confidential information via email has caused several agencies to revaluate their information governance processes,” said Alan Lepofsky, VP and Principal Analyst, Future of Work, Constellation Research. “Enterprise social networks provide a valid alternative, but only a few products have achieved the required FedRAMP certification.”

tibbr has amassed over 6 million paid users around the world across various industries, including government agencies and non-governmental organisations.
