60 jobs created as Liverpool cocktail bar District House prepares to launch

District House, Liverpool’s newest restaurant, cocktail bar and event space, is officially opening this week after completing a successful soft launch.

The project, brought about by leisure operator Know Hospitality Ltd with a £1m investment, has capacity for up to 600 people as an event space or 350 dining guests across a restaurant, cocktail lounge and private mezzanine.

Located on Water Street in the city centre, District House has created 60 new jobs.

Know Hospitality founder Steven Hesketh said: “We’re immensely proud of this new venue which has brought a beautiful space back to life.

“District House is completely unique in its offering for this part of the city and we have been overwhelmed by the support shown by local businesses and guests during our soft launch period.”

Established in October 2013, the Know brand encompasses Know Hospitality Management Services, Know Property & Facilities Management Services and Know Hospitality Academy. The company has a turnover in excess of £6m and employs more than 120 people.

In addition to District House, Know’s portfolio includes The Richmond Aparthotel, coffee shop Ameriesko and ESK Fitness & Beauty, all based in Liverpool.

Andy Duckworth, director of Know Hospitality, commented: “This is the start of an exciting period of growth for the Know Collection and we’re hoping to bring several new concepts to the city over the coming months.

“Having recently joined the board, District House is a fantastic project to be working on and we know the whole team will work hard to make it a huge success.”
