Manchester’s Duo UK expands Irish footprint with Donaghys Shoes contract
North West packaging firm Duo UK has won a contract with Donaghys Shoes, one of the biggest independent footwear retailers in Ireland.
As part of the deal, Manchester-based Duo UK will design, manufacture and supply branded polythene packaging for the Banbridge-headquartered retailer.
Donaghys Shoes is one of a number of national brands to partner up with Duo UK, joining ASOS, JD Williams and supermarket giant Tesco.
Peter McVeigh, Donaghys Shoes’ e-commerce director, said: “What impressed us most about Duo UK was their passion, creativity, and positive attitude to finding a packaging solution that worked for us.
“They opened our eyes to how beneficial branded packaging is for our customers being able to recognize that the parcel that’s landed on their doorstep is from Donaghys Shoes.”
He added: “We’re looking forward to working much more closely with Duo UK in the future, their price, short lead time and high quality product has impressed us to date and I’m sure will continue to impress us moving forward.”
Founded more than 25 years ago, Duo UK manufactures gift boxes, fabric bags and tissue, among other packaging products.
Zoe Brimelow, Duo UK’s brand director, commented: It’s great for us to work with such a recognisable brand in Ireland, and we’re thrilled that Donaghys Shoes has chosen to take the step to using branded packaging when it sends out customer orders.“
