TIBCO Provides Next-Generation Technology to Royal Mail
TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration and analytics, is to provide the next-generation technology to support the transformation of Royal Mail’s parcel delivery service. Underpinned by TIBCO’s long history of real-time data processing, the Royal Mail Parcel System will meet customer demands for timely insight around the progress of parcels, while driving efficiencies and innovation.
TIBCO Software’s event processing technology will sit at the heart of Royal Mail Group’s architecture and solution. It will provide a near real-time view of event data for greater operational intelligence and control through a range of technologies and software from TIBCO.
The parcel system, combined with Royal Mail’s 2-D barcode technology, gives a snapshot of all the traffic in the network, allowing Royal Mail to identify bottlenecks and address logistical challenges.
“The requirement from Royal Mail Group was for a partner that could enable the technology strategy and be at the heart of the required business transformation,” said Steve Hurn, senior vice president, EMEA, TIBCO. “Our background and heritage in real-time data gives us the edge in this respect.”
The new system will be better equipped to handle the tracking of every parcel and will additionally support new technologies. The net result is that the new service is capable of delivering improved visibility, enhanced customer experience, and efficiency gains.
