Tinies Cheltenham named 'Outstanding' by Ofsted

Tinies Nursery in Cheltenham is celebrating after its team was named ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.

The nursery, based in Princess Elizabeth Way on the Gloucestershire College Campus, has been running for 11 years and looks after 40 children a day.

They received the excellent review in recognition of their effectiveness in leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment and outcomes for children. Managers and staff were described as “exceptional role models” using “every opportunity to encourage and praise children for their achievements.”

Candice Walker, Tinies Cheltenham Nursery Manager says: “I am extremely pleased that my team’s hard work and commitment has been recognised in the report. They are an amazing group of ladies who put the children at the heart of everything they do.

“Tinies has given great support and financial backing to help us achieve our goals for the nursery; they are a lovely company to work for who trust their managers to provide the best care and education for the children. The focus now is to maintain the “outstanding” grade and continue to provide the best possible outcomes for the children in our care.”

The nursery employs 13 members of staff and looks after children from birth to eight years old.

Ofsted also said that children make excellent progress while attending Tinies Cheltenham, recognising the nursery for their “exceptional care of children who have special educational needs or disability,” helping them “work towards achieving the very best possible outcomes.” It also said that parents expressed “the highest of praise for the management and staff and the care and learning their children receive.”

Lindsey Doe, Director of Tinies says: “At Tinies we pride ourselves on the fantastic childcare we provide and it’s wonderful that the team in Cheltenham are being celebrated for their hard work. To be recognised as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted is not an easy task – and we are all absolutely thrilled and proud of the team there.”

To furthur improve the quality of the early years provision from Tinies Cheltenham, Ofsted recommended they continue to broaden the very good range of experiences for children to develop their early writing skills.

Meanwhile, neighbouring nursery, Tinies Gloucestershire also received a very positive review from Ofsted – receiving an overall rating of ‘Good’.
