Manchester Airport unveils new-look lounge following £1.9m refurb

Manchester Airport has today (July 20) unveiled images of its new Escape Lounge after investing £1.9m in a full refurb.

The space, which has room for up to 212 passengers, was created by knocking two existing lounges into one.

First introduced in 2006 at the airport’s Terminal 2, Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the site’s operator, went on to expand the concept to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, in 2010 and 2013 respectively.

Additionally, MAG rolled the concept out to its East Midlands Airport and London Stansted facilities two years ago.

The Escape Lounge is also making headway across the Atlantic, launching recently at Minneapolis-St Paul Airport and due to reach Oakland International Airport and Bradley International Airport in Connecticut later this year.

MAG’s head of retail, Kevin Smith, commented: “We’re delighted with how well the refurbishment has gone.

“Now even more passengers can start their holidays in style by taking advantage of our fantastic facilities.”
