Farsley-based Sunny Bank Mills unveils £300k car park
The historic Sunny Bank Mills complex near Leeds has been kitted out with a £300k car park
Sunny Bank Mills now has space for 50 vehicles in its new Woodland Car Park, which features 25 metres of Yorkshire dry stone wall, resin-bonded walkways and natural landscaping.
The site, where soaps Emmerdale and Heartbeat were once filmed, is located on Town Street in Farsley and has been renovated to provide workspace for SMEs in West Yorkshire.
John Gaunt, the joint managing director of Edwin Woodhouse Ltd, which owns Sunny Bank Mills, said: “With nearly 70 companies and over 300 people now occupying Sunny Bank Mills, we needed to keep investing in the infrastructure of the development, as well as releasing business space.
“We believe the quality of our new car park reflects both the pedigree of business and the quality of the refurbishments at Sunny Bank Mills, helping us to succeed in our mission of being a creative and attractive space for business.”
Mike Dove, from Leeds-based property consultancy Dove Haigh Phillips, believes the Sunny Bank Mills refurbishment project was “a complete triumph”.
He said: “This is one of the most significant mill regeneration projects currently being undertaken in Yorkshire. Steeped in history and with massive potential, Sunny Bank Mills is fast becoming one of the prime business locations in the West Leeds area.”
Stuart Andrew, the Conservative MP for Pudsey, commented: “It is great to see the ambitious plans for Sunny Bank Mills coming to fruition.
“I have worked closely with some of the team at the Mills, and it has always struck me how they understand that the Mills play a very special part in our area’s history.”
Mr Andrew added: “Their plans have meant that through creating a state of the art multi-purpose space, they have been able to attract a lot of new and modern businesses.”
