High-quality roofing for high-quality homes

According to the UK Housing Review 2015, over the last two years the UK has seen a decrease in social housing losing just over 63,000 homes for social rent.

Like many other cities within the UK, Cambridge is thriving and has become one of the most popular places to live in the country.

Due to the significant growth within Cambridge, the County Council’s 2012-2015 Housing Strategy Document aims to provide around 1300 much needed new, affordable Homes between 2011 and 2015 for people who are on the full range of incomes in order to meet the demand for housing.

A significant Cambridge housing project has gone some way towards meeting the targets laid out by the County Council. 20 homes have been built on the council owned site, under a partnership between Cambridge County Council and Keepmoat, a national market leader in sustainable community regeneration and housing.

Leading roof tile manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles (RRT) had its Galloway tiles specified for this development due to the security and durability of their interlocking concrete design and the manufacturer worked closely with roofers Russell Roofing on the project.

The tiles were chosen for having the traditional appearance of slate with the economy of concrete. Concrete tiles are a long life, durable product which requires minimal maintenance once installed, fulfilling Cambridge County Council’s aims of building high-quality homes that are sustainable in the long-term.
