Barclays funding helps drive growth for Doncaster motor business

Doncaster-based Usedcar123 has announced expansion plans after purchasing a new site with funding from Barclays.

Established in 2013, Usedcar123 is headquartered at Sandtoft Industrial Estate, Belton, Doncaster.

The business is operated by a team of entrepreneurs who also run Axholme Car Company and Sandtoft Car Company.

The new site has enabled them to purchase the freehold premises, which provides the business with more space to expand.

Grant Lees, one of the directors of Usedcar123, said: “The car sales have been up and running for a while now and are becoming busier by the month.

“We decided we wanted to harness the loyalty of our customers and launch our own local servicing centre where we could provide a better customer experience.

Purchasing premises has been a big step but it provides security for the future and a great foundation to take the business to the next level.“

Usedcar123 employs 30 staff and group turnover for this year is expected to exceed £10m.

Kevin Peart, Barclays relationship director, commented: “We’ve supported Usedcar123 for several years now and we’re very proud to be associated with the next stage of their development and growth.

“The new site will increase capacity and I know they already have exciting plans for a new forecourt which will lead to a further increase in sales.”
