Love Home Swap launches 'world's first' home swapping app
London-based Love Home Swap, the world’s biggest home swapping platform, has launched its iOS app in what it claims is the first of its kind.
The platform, which facilitates home swaps between users by matching people with similarly-valued homes, has launched its app today as it looks to sustain its footing in the alternative travel sector.
Akin to Airbnb, the Love Home Swap allows people to rate other users and supports home swaps to over 95,000 properties in 190 countries, with users paying a monthly membership fee to be a part of what is described as the world’s ‘largest home swapping’ club.
Primarily focused on people with second homes and other empty properties, it claims to be a safer and more secure introduction to the sharing economy than its US rival as both users benefit from access to each other’s properties.
Debbie Wosskow, OBE and Chief Executive Officer at Love Home Swap commented: “We have created the world’s first home swapping app to bring the sector into the 21st century.
“Mobile makes up more than 50% of our traffic, so this is a major move to give our members what they want from us.
“Having an app makes it easy for people to find their way to a swap whilst on the move, giving instant access to thousands of beautiful properties we have listed around the world.”
Founded in 2011, the firm has set about cornering the home swapping market following the acquisition of Dutch rival, Home for Exchange, at the tail end of last year.
