Andy Murray joins a host of high-profile backers in Mindful Chef startup

Healthy eating brand Mindful Chef has lined up a host of high-profile backers as part of its overwhelmingly successful crowdfund on Seedrs.

The ‘farm to fork’ startup, which is currently overfunding by 250% having raised £1m, has added Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, Olympic gold medalist Victoria Pendleton and rugby player Will Greenwood to its line-up of investors.

Founded in 2015 by school friends Robert Grieg-Gran, Giles Humphries and Myles Hopper, the brand had already received the backing of the Beckhams and the England Rugby team before launching its crowdfunding campaign.

Commenting on the massive interest the crowdfund has generated, Giles Humphries, said: “We are delighted to have overfunded in such a short period of time. The demand has been phenomenal; this is huge validation of the business and has left the whole team energised about what the future holds.

“We are looking forward to bringing healthy eating to thousands more households across the UK.”

Mindful Chef allows users to select from a rotating weekly selection of meals, devised by head chef Louise Mitchell, and have the relevant hand-picked ingredients delivered directly to their door.

Recent convert and new investor Victoria Pendleton added: “Having discovered Mindful Chef recently I couldn’t speak more highly of the product. The quality speaks for itself and as soon as I heard the guys were crowdfunding I knew I had to be involved. I am looking forward to helping spread the word about this fantastic new business.”
