Barratt Developments expands Land team

Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has strengthened its land division with the appointment of two new Land Managers. The new additions see Jenny Purple and Gareth Lloyd join the growing team within the division, bringing further experience of surveying, development and land acquisition to Barratt.

Jenny Purple, a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, joins having previously been a residential Chartered Surveyor with Cushman & Wakefield bringing a wealth of experience in the residential development market. During previous role, Jenny provided advice on important residential development sites in Yorkshire, including Bodington Manor in Adel, Princes Park in Pontefract, Waverley in Rotherham and Yew Tree Lane in Harrogate. Jenny specialises in Land Disposals, Valuation and Viability Appraisals, bringing a new dynamic to Barratt’s already successful land team, which has ambitious expansion plans for its Yorkshire West region.

Gareth Lloyd also joins to further strengthen the team. Gareth joins from Persimmon Homes where he worked for 5 years having joined the company on their graduate programme. As an experienced town planner, Gareth brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of local housing, planning and political issues across the region. He has successfully secured a broad range of planning permissions, worked on land acquisition’s, site promotion, affordable housing and viability negotiation whilst managing a strategic land portfolio of 1,000 acres, equating to around 9,000 plots.

Speaking of the appointments, David Coe, Land Director at Barratt Developments, commented: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our team within the land division. We’ve had a very successful financial year in terms of new land purchased and exchanged, and the fact we’re able to attract talented new team members like Gareth and Jenny is testament to the progression we’ve seen. We have big plans for expansion particularly in Sheffield and South Yorkshire over the coming year and both of the new team members bring a specialised skill set to our business and we’re already seeing the benefits of having Gareth and Jenny on board.”
